C4 Experts Present at Beyond Housing Conference

Experts from C4 are presenting at the Beyond Housing 2020 Conference on January 16 and 17 in Manhattan, New York.

Nastacia’ Moore, Technical Assistance Coordinator, and Rosie Donegan, Research Coordinator, are presenting “Coordinated Entry Racial Equity Analysis: Findings from a Multi-Community Study” from 2:45 – 4:15 pm on January 16. They will focus on racial biases and potential limits of assessments used by coordinated entry systems to prioritize those with the greatest need in housing and homelessness systems.

Katie Volk, Senior Project Director is presenting about “Using an Ecological Perspective to Screen Young Children for Developmental Risk and Resilience” with Carmela DeCandia, PsyD, of Artemis Associates from 9:15 – 10:45 am on January 17. They will focus on the development of the Neurodevelopmental Ecological Screening Tool (NEST) for children ages 3-5. The tool helps service providers and parents in low-resource environments assess how a child is developing and identify ways to minimize risk factors and build resilience.

The conference is organized by the Institute for Children, Poverty, & Homelessness. This year’s theme is “A National Conversation on Child Homelessness & Poverty.”
