Who Should Take This Course

We recommend leaders and board members of nonprofit peer-run and recovery community organizations take part in this learning community. We encourage teams of two or more from the same organization to participate together.

Learning Objectives

The Learning Community is a professional development opportunity that will help you:

  • Develop and strengthen an organizational culture grounded in lived experience and recovery values and principles
  • Identify opportunities to advance racial equity within your organization and the communities that you serve
  • Construct and sustain the board you need and maximize your effectiveness in stewarding your organization
  • Cultivate a strong and cohesive team with shared vision and commitment to your mission
  • Integrate strategic thinking in everything you do
  • Develop near and longer-term plans to guide your organization
  • Plan for fund development and fiscal sustainability
  • Connect with other leaders facing similar challenges

Cost: $650 per person or $500 per person for groups of 2 or more from the same organization

Practice Level: Intermediate to Advanced

Course Type: Live online sessions for 60 minutes per week plus 2-4 hours per week of independent work including action planning, self-assessment, assigned readings, and individual meetings with faculty

Covered Topics: Creating and affirming organizational mission, vision, and values; organizational culture; strategic thinking and planning; governance; leadership; talent management; racial equity; friend and fund raising

CE Credits:

    • ASWB: 6 hours
    • NAADAC: 12 hours
