Skilled Management and Supervision Essentials
Online Course: Spring 2023
Everyone remembers a good manager or supervisor. We remember why they were good, how skilled they were, and specific times when we felt supported and empowered. Often we take these skills for granted, and many managers and supervisors learn these skills and abilities through trial and error. However, being a skilled manager and supervisor requires continuous development of abilities, experiences, and knowledge.
This course will cover a myriad of skills and abilities for managers and supervisors to have at their fingertips including: race equity, trauma-informed supervision, supervising people with lived and living experience, self-care and creating a culture of self-care, management vs leadership, and delegation dos and don’ts.
This course is designed to introduce new managers and supervisors to a range of concepts and encourage seasoned managers and supervisors to recap or brush up on their skills.
