Our Expertise
Many C4 staff members have experienced substance use, mental health challenges, housing instability, homelessness, incarceration, and trauma. Many more are family members and allies of people in recovery as well as clinicians, practitioners, and leaders with on-the-ground experience designing and delivering services. These experiences ground and enrich our work and form the base of everything we do.
Our team brings deep expertise in assessing and meeting the needs of systematically marginalized people across the lifespan–from the earliest developmental years to transition-age youth and adulthood. We are a diverse community of subject matter experts, trainers, technical assistance specialists, clinicians, researchers, and evaluators with professional and lived expertise in the following areas:
- Equity Initiatives: we use person-centered, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed approaches to understand factors that drive racial inequities and achieve transformative results.
- Substance Use & Mental Health Recovery Support: based on our core belief that anyone can recover, we advance recovery-oriented services and supports by building provider knowledge and skills, organizational capacity, and equitable systems.
- Substance Use Prevention & Early Intervention: we support behavioral health stakeholders in responding to opioid and other substance use and supporting resiliency among youth
- Housing Solutions: we work with programs to engage with and respond more effectively to individuals, families, and youth experiencing or at risk of housing instability and homelessness
- Person-Centered Strategies: we support teams in developing and enhancing case management strategies and overall skills for working with diverse populations.
