Bethany Marcogliese

Bethany Marcogliese, PhD, EdM, has more than a decade of experience in applied research, analysis, and technical assistance. Her focus has been on on performance data and evaluation methods for community programs serving vulnerable populations. She has designed and implemented evaluation projects in both the private and nonprofit sectors; developed curricula and technical assistance on data collection, management, and utilization; and conducted research.
Bethany directs and serves as technical lead on research, training, and technical assistance projects. Currently, she is the Research Director for the OrganWise Families project, funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration in the Department of Health and Human Services to adapt and evaluate a health promotion and obesity prevention program for children experiencing homelessness. She also serves as the C4 Innovations’ Training and Technical Assistance Project Director for SAMHSA’s Performance Accountability and Reporting System, which provides technical assistance to SAMHSA project officers and discretionary grantees on collection, management, and utilization of data.
Before joining C4, Bethany worked as a senior analyst at Datacorp where she coordinated evaluation and data management projects for SAMHSA grantees. She worked directly with SAMHSA’s Center for Substance Abuse Prevention grantees as a local evaluator. She was responsible for ensuring methods employed were relevant and rigorous; data were collected, managed, and analyzed in a valid and reliable manner; and processes were cost-effective and efficient. Bethany also served as the Quality Improvement and Data Analyst at Jewish Family & Children’s Service managing coordination, collection, monitoring, and analysis of survey and outcome data for over 40 services. In this role, she worked collaboratively with direct service providers, program managers, funders, academic researchers, information technology professionals, community members, and consumers to create relevant evaluations, collect and interpret data, create data collection systems, and present results.
She received a PhD in Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology from Boston College and a Master of Education from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education.
