Do you have lived experience of behavioral health needs and justice system involvement? Join a new Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP) to inform the national Stepping Up Initiative focused on reducing the over-incarceration of people with mental illnesses. The purpose of the LEAP is to provide feedback and guidance to inform the development and implementation of mental health and justice-related policies and programs relevant to Stepping Up. The Lived Experience Panel is sponsored by C4 and the Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center.
About the Lived Experience Panel:
Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP) members will be asked to do the following:
- Participate in 6–10 hours of meetings with other members from the LEAP (participation will be virtual, and the compensation rate is $62.50 per hour)
- Share their lived experiences related to mental illness and justice system involvement
- Support in reviewing resources for the field prepared by the Stepping Up Initiative
- Provide recommendations to the Stepping Up Initiative to make sure the voices of lived experience are represented in its framework
