Daisy M. Hernandez, MSW, LCSW, MBA

Daisy M. Hernandez, MSW, LCSW, MBA, Manager/Trainer, is a native of Puerto Rico and has dedicated her clinical social work career to community mental and behavioral health organizations within under-served communities. Her professional experience spans the entire spectrum of substance use disorder (prevention through recovery). Daisy has leveraged her lived experience, education, and bilingualism to support and advance racial justice and empower individuals who are over-represented in behavioral health and social services resulting from negative impacts of social determinants of health, including re-entry needs.

Daisy began her career as a peer recovery coach supporting people in their quest towards recovery. She has held roles as recovery coach supervisor and program manager. Daisy has also served as a clinician for medication-assisted treatment in an opioid use disorder treatment program.

She provides training and technical assistance for mental health and substance use providers for the Praxis: Training for MA Addiction Professionals initiative on topics including HIV/AIDS care integration, harm reduction, medication-assisted treatment, opioid overdose prevention, and Viral Hepatitis care integration. She has been a recovery coach academy trainer for bilingual cohorts. Daisy has a Master of Social Work from Westfield State University.
