“C4 facilitated a comprehensive and rigorous investigation that helped us identify our most critical strategic issues at an inflection point in the growth of our organization. They guided our development of a new strategic plan to resolve these issues and set goals, objectives, and action steps to implement it along with metrics to measure progress. In other words, we learned not only what we need to do going forward, but also how to do it."

Bill Greer, Board President, SMART Recovery USA

"I appreciate the creative collaboration and the flexibility offered by the C4 team. Our initiative was able to meet all of our goals and timelines."

Why consider Embedded Staffing?

Organizations may find it beneficial to contract with external professionals in different ways. This commonly includes project-based contracting or contracting with an embedded staff member on a fractional basis.

  • Project-based Contracts: Scope is time-limited and defined upfront in response to a specific set of organizational objectives. Consultants remain external to the organization, providing observations, knowledge, and other deliverables or resources.
  • Embedded (Fractional) Staff Contracts: Scope is flexible and built around key functions. Team member(s) can integrate more directly into internal day-to-day operations as needed, allowing them to provide direct support and/or supervision and engage in implementing long-term strategic goals.

How are Embedded Staffing contracts structured?

Typically, embedded staffing contracts are structured to be at least six months long, with staff assignments ranging from 4-16 hours (half-day to two days) per week. Organizations could choose to contract with one or more professional roles, spanning mid-level to senior staff, managers, and executives. Embedded staffing pricing varies by the level of professional roles and assigned team members.

C4’s experts are generally available to support embedded staffing engagements on a virtual basis. Costs for periodic onsite travel can be incorporated into pricing if needed.
